Alexandru Ionut Zarnoianu, Alex Art Online

Who we areAlex Art Online is run by Alexandru Ionut Zarnoianu, a photographer and sole trader in the UK. Business address: 58 Harold Gibbons Court, Victoria Way, London SE7 7LY. Email: [email protected]. That's who is responsible for your data.

When you browse our websiteOur official website is always https://alexartonline.co.uk. If an address looks different, it isn't us. You don't sign up for anything. Like every website, our host (Cloudflare) sees your IP address to deliver pages and block attacks, and our fonts load from Google Fonts, which sees it too. Cloudflare also tells us which country you're visiting from (never your exact location), only so we can show whether orders are open there. We also keep one simple number: how many browsers visited in the last 30 days, shown as "shop visitors". Your browser remembers when it was counted (a small setting on your device, so you're counted at most once a month), and nothing about you is stored with it. It's a statistic to help us improve the shop, so you can say no: switch off "Count my visit" in the settings gear at the top of any page, and you won't be counted. If you'd already been counted, your visit is taken back out straight away (switch it back on and it's added again). Other pages you have open update the next time they load. We don't store it. Your browser also keeps a few small settings so the site works, like your reactions, whether animations are on (the settings gear) and whether you've already seen a message. The star and heart totals on each photo are shared numbers everyone sees; nothing about who reacted is stored. They stay on your device, aren't used to track you, and you can clear them any time in your browser settings. Who handles your data

When you email usWe get what you send and use it to reply. We keep emails only as long as we need them for your message or a related order.

When you download a free photoWe don't collect anything. No email, no sign-up: you agree to the free-use terms, pass a quick human check by Cloudflare (Turnstile, which stops bots from abusing free downloads), and the photo downloads straight away. We don't need to know who you are to give you a free photo, so we don't ask.

When you buy something from us

  • Stripe handles the payment. We never see or store your card details.
  • Stripe sends us your name and email, plus what you bought, the amount and an order number.
  • We use your name and email to create your Certificate of Authenticity, and send it to you with your photos through your own unique download link.
  • The link works for 30 days. If you haven't downloaded yet, we'll email you a reminder with 15, 7 and 3 days left.
  • We also use them to answer questions about your order, handle refunds, and keep the financial records the law requires. How long we keep it

Why we can use your dataTo deliver what you bought (our contract with you), to keep financial records (a legal requirement), and to keep the site secure and answer your messages (our legitimate interest). We never use your data for marketing, and we'll never use it for a new purpose without telling you first.

Do you have to give us your data?Only for what you ask us to do. Browsing needs nothing. To buy, we need your name and email (Stripe asks for them): without them we can't deliver your files, make your certificate or keep the records the law requires, so the order can't go ahead. A free photo needs nothing either. Emailing us is up to you.

How long we keep itDownload links stop working after 30 days, so save your files and certificate as soon as you get them. Order records are kept for 6 years after the end of the tax year you bought in, because HMRC requires it, then deleted automatically. You can still ask to see or correct them any time. Your rights

Who handles your data for us

  • Stripe: payments.
  • Cloudflare: hosting this site, the order database, the download files, and the human check on free downloads.
  • Resend: sending order emails.
  • Google Fonts: the site's fonts.

Some of them process data outside the UK, mainly in the US. Where that happens, it's protected by UK-approved safeguards. Stripe's checkout page also uses its own cookies to prevent fraud, covered by Stripe's privacy policy. We don't share your data with anyone else.

SecurityOrder data and download files are stored in our Cloudflare account, encrypted with AES-256 (the industry standard) both when stored and when sent, and never kept on a personal device. No system is perfectly safe, but if a breach ever puts your data at risk, we'll tell you and the ICO as the law requires.

Your rightsYou can ask to see your data, correct it, delete it, limit or object to how it's used, or get a copy to take elsewhere. Email [email protected] and we'll reply within one month. The one limit: we can't delete order records before the 6 years are up, because the law requires us to keep them. How long we keep it No decisions about you are made automatically. If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the ICO, the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk. We take that seriously: we follow the ICO's guidance for small businesses, and we've completed the ICO's data protection fee self-assessment (16/10/2026, see the result). Because we only use your data to sell, deliver and keep records of your order, no fee is due, but every other part of data protection law still applies to us, and this policy is how we keep to it.

See how little we hold about you after a purchase: here's an example of what you'd get back if you asked for your data.

ChildrenThe shop is for adults. If you're under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to buy for you.

Alex Art Online — terms of sale.

This section covers Alex Art Online's photography. Elisa Tailoring has its own terms. Elisa Tailoring

Who you're buying fromAlexandru Ionut Zarnoianu, trading as Alex Art Online. Who we are

What you get with every purchaseEverything sold here is a digital download. Every purchase includes:

  • Full-resolution JPEG: the finished photo as shown on the site, converted from the RAW at full 8K resolution and without the watermark. Best for sharing, displaying or sending to a print lab.
  • Print-ready PDF: the same photo, laid out for printing.
  • RAW file: the unedited original straight from the camera, for complete editing control (it needs RAW-capable photo software to open).
  • Certificate of Authenticity (with the Exclusive Licence for Limited pieces): made for your order, with your name and email, order number, date, the amount you paid through Stripe and Stripe's payment reference. It's your proof of purchase and your licence (for Limited pieces, signed by Alex Art Online as the copyright holder).

Where we sellPaid downloads are available to buyers in the UK, the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Switzerland, Norway, Japan and Singapore (plus Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man). These are the countries where a small shop like ours can sell digital downloads properly from day one. Europe is planned for the near future, followed by an official worldwide release: selling there means following each country's tax rules, and we want to do that properly rather than rush it. You can browse everything from anywhere, and if you visit from somewhere we don't sell to yet, a note at the top of the page tells you. At checkout we ask where you're buying from, and Stripe asks for your billing address. If an order from somewhere we can't sell to yet gets through, it's refunded in full automatically and nothing is delivered. Free photos are available to everyone.

PayingPrices are in GBP, and the price you see at checkout is what you pay. Payment is handled securely by Stripe. Your order is confirmed once Stripe confirms your payment, and we then email your download link straight away. On your bank statement it shows as ALEXARTONLINE.

You have 30 days to downloadYour own unique download link works for 30 days from purchase, for at least 20 downloads (more for bigger orders: enough to download every file three times). Please download and save your photos and your Certificate of Authenticity straight away (to your computer, phone or cloud storage): the link is temporary, and the certificate is your proof of purchase. If you haven't downloaded yet, we'll remind you with 15, 7 and 3 days left. When the link expires, nothing is lost: your order stays on record, and if you haven't saved your files, just email [email protected] with your name and order number and we'll be more than happy to help.

Three kinds of pieceEvery piece is one of three, shown by its badge: Limited (one of one, with an exclusive licence), Open (for personal use, anyone can buy it) or Free. A piece never changes from one kind to another, so a Limited piece is never also sold as Open.

The badge on each piece

Open
Open edition. For personal use. Anyone can buy it, any number of times, and buying one doesn't use anything up.
Limited
One of one. Sold once only, with an exclusive licence. The moment it sells, it's removed from the Market and shown as sold in the Archive, and nobody else can buy it. If that order is ever cancelled and refunded in full, the piece goes back on sale.
Free
No charge. Agree to the free-use terms and it downloads straight away, with a small watermark along the bottom that must stay (no cropping it out). Use it anywhere, and credit us when you use it publicly or commercially.

In the rare case that two people pay for the same limited piece at the same moment, the second payment is refunded in full.

What you can do with itIt depends on the kind of piece:

Limited Exclusive licence, worldwide and forever

  • Use it for anything: personal or business use, websites, advertising, products, prints and merchandise.
  • It's yours alone: from the moment you buy it, nobody else can buy or license it from us, and we won't sell, license or use it commercially again.
  • Pass it on: you can sell or give the licence to someone else, as a whole. Tell us who the new holder is, so the record, and the protection, follows the piece.
  • We stand behind you: copyright stays with the artist, together with the proof of origin (the original RAW file, the sale record and your certificate). Your signed certificate makes you the exclusive licence holder, so you can act against anyone who copies or claims your image too, and Alex Art Online backs you up as the copyright holder, with the proof.
  • The Archive: sold pieces stay in our Archive as part of the artist's portfolio, marked as sold. Prefer it shown privately? Ask, and we'll blur it and hide its title.

Open Personal-use licence, forever

  • You can: keep it, print it as big as you like, frame it, use it as a wallpaper or display it at home.
  • You can't: resell or share the files, or use them for business, products or marketing.
  • Copyright stays with the artist. Other people can buy the same photo too.

Free Free to use, with credit

  • You can: use it anywhere, business included. When you use it publicly or commercially, credit us with a link to alexartonline.co.uk.
  • You can't: crop out, cover or remove the watermark along the bottom.
  • Copyright stays with the artist.

The exact terms are printed on your Certificate of Authenticity. If a payment is refunded, the licence and certificate for it end. Refunds and cancelling

Commercial useIn short: Limited pieces include business use at no extra cost, Free photos can be used commercially with credit, and Open pieces are for personal use only.

Physical printsNot available yet. This page will be updated when they are.

03

Alex Art Online — returns & your right to cancel.

Every piece is described honestly, so you'll rarely need this section. When you do, here's exactly where you stand.

Digital downloads: no cancelling for a change of mindOnline orders normally come with 14 days to cancel. Digital downloads are different: UK law (the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013) lets that right end once delivery starts, but only if we tell you first and you agree before you pay. That's why there's a tick box before checkout: by ticking it, you ask for your files straight away and confirm you understand that you can't cancel once your download link is sent (unless you haven't downloaded anything yet, see below). Your order email repeats this in writing, so you always have a record.

Haven't downloaded anything yet? You can still cancelThe law isn't fully settled on when delivery of a digital download "starts": when we send your link, or when you actually download. We take the side that's fairer to you. If you haven't downloaded any file from your order and you ask within 14 days of buying, we'll cancel it and refund you in full, no questions asked. Just email [email protected] with your order number. Once any file has been downloaded, the order can't be cancelled for a change of mind.

If something's wrongIf a file is faulty, corrupted, or not the photo you paid for, you're protected by the Consumer Rights Act 2015, at any time. Email [email protected] with your order number and we'll send a working replacement, or refund you if we can't fix it.

How refunds workRefunds go back to your original payment method through Stripe, within 14 days of us agreeing. Your bank may take a few more days to show it. When a payment is refunded, the licence and Certificate of Authenticity for it end, so the image can't be used any more. What you can do with it

If you paid for a limited piece that someone else bought at the same moment, you're refunded in full. Three kinds of piece

Free piecesNo payment, so nothing to cancel or refund.

When physical prints launch (not yet)

For physical items, you'll have the usual 14 days to cancel after delivery, for any reason:

  • Tell us within 14 days of delivery: an email to [email protected] is enough.
  • Send it back within 14 days of telling us, in the condition you received it.
  • Return postage is yours, unless it arrived faulty or not as described.
  • We refund you in full within 14 days of getting it back.
04

Elisa Tailoring — policy, coming soon.

Coming soon, not open yet. Elisa Tailoring is a separate shop, so the Alex Art Online terms above (editions, certificates, digital downloads) don't apply here. Full terms, including who you're buying from, will be published before anything goes on sale.

What it isHandmade crochet pieces, made by Elisa: little charms, keychains and clips. Each one is made individually and is yours outright once bought.

Your right to cancelPhysical pieces come with the usual 14 days to cancel after delivery, for any reason, unless a piece was custom-made to your request. How it works

Handle with careThese are delicate, hand-stitched pieces, not machine-made. Charms and clips can loosen at the stitching if they're pulled or tugged, so please handle them gently. That's the nature of handmade crochet, not a fault, and normal wear over time isn't a fault either. If a piece arrives damaged or faulty, you're fully covered.

ShippingUK only for now, sent by Royal Mail. A flat shipping charge is shown before you pay, and orders of £20 or more ship free. The price doesn't depend on where in the UK you are.
